GAMuT Graduate Student Conference at UNT 2014

The Graduate Association of Musicologists und Theorists (GAMuT) and the College of Music at the University of North Texas are pleased to announce a graduate student conference to be held Saturday 27 September 2014 at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. Our keynote speaker will be Joel Lester from Mannes College of Music in New York.

We invite interested graduate students currently enrolled in a master's or doctoral program to submit paper proposals on any topic in the fields of musicology, music theory, and ethnomusicology. Interdisciplinary papers are particularly encouraged. Papers will be 25 minutes in length, followed by a question and answer period. All papers accepted for presentation will be eligible for the conference paper award.

Abstracts of no more than 350 words with up to 4 pages of examples should be submitted as a single PDF file to JessicaStearns@my.unt.edu. Individual proposals will be reviewed anonymously, so identifying information should not be included in the proposal itself. Submission should be accompanied by an email that includes the title of your paper, your name, institutional affiliation, email address, and telephone number.

All materials must be received on or before 1 July 2014. Decisions will be returned by 31 July 2014.

Updated information, including details regarding travel, accommodations, and the keynote speaker, will be posted on our website: http://music.unt.edu/mhte/gamut.

Please email all inquiries to conference co-‐chair Jessica Stearns at JessicaStearns@my.unt.edu.
