After four years of excellent service to SEM, Jennifer Studebaker has resigned from the position of Program Specialist in preparation for a move to Kansas City. Her last day at the Business Office will be Friday, June 3.
Since joining SEM in 2012, Jennifer has had an extraordinary impact on our organization. She has managed our membership services and financial records with exceptional professionalism and has helped to improve our Annual Meeting, publications, and prize programs. In addition, she has greatly expanded our electronic communications. Her diverse skills and ingenuity have enabled her to assist numerous Sections, SIGs, and other constituents with webpages and online workgroups; assume coordination of our Annual Meeting video-streaming service; develop our Annual Meeting smartphone app; and introduce social media to the Society (under her direction, our Facebook Group has grown from 0 to 4,000+ members). Finally, SEM members and colleagues have appreciated her perennial good cheer and the dedication to which she has attended to every request. At present, she is preparing an extensive handbook for a new Program Specialist, whom we hope to hire soon.
Jennifer will be leaving SEM as a much stronger organization than when she arrived. We wish her the best as she pursues new endeavors!
