In conjunction with the Annual Meeting, the American Folklife Center will hold a pre-conference symposium, “Soundings: Public Sector Ethnomusicology in the 21st Century,” on November 9 at the Library of Congress.
In addition, SEM is partnering with the Music and Sound Interest Group of the American Anthropological Association to present a special forum, “The Anthropology of Sound,” on November 11 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel.
