SEM is pleased to announce the hire of Marysol Quevedo as our new Program Specialist. Marysol is currently completing a doctorate in musicology and doctoral minor in ethnomusicology at Indiana University in Bloomington and has been a member of SEM for several years. She has wide-ranging research interests in the 20th- and 21st-century music of Latin America (especially Cuba) and has taught courses in this area at IU. From 2010 to the present, she worked in IU’s Latin American Music Center, where she played a key role in event organizing, publicity, and website development. She has also assisted with a large-scale audio digitization project at IU and served as an editorial assistant for the Journal of Musicology, published by the University of California Press. SEM will benefit greatly from Marysol’s broad knowledge of music studies and her multifaceted experience in arts administration. We welcome her to the staff of SEM and look forward to her new contributions to the Society!
