The LAC and the American Folklife Center are offering a pre-conference symposium, “Soundings: Public Sector Ethnomusicology in the 21st Century,” on November 9 at the Library of Congress. In addition, SEM is partnering with the Music and Sound Interest Group of the American Anthropological Association to present a special forum, “The Anthropology of Sound,” on November 11.
The 2016 Seeger Lecture will be delivered by Ellen Koskoff on November 12 and will be followed by the SEM Banquet.
