PhD opportunity Newcastle University

Following a successful bid to the AHRC’s National Productivity Investment Fund (NPIF), the International Centre for Music Studies at Newcastle University is offering a fully-funded Northern Bridge NPIF studentship for doctoral research. The project focuses on the work of independent small recording studios run by musicians and specialising in folk and traditional music in the Northeast of England. The research involves placements with identified partners in the region. Eligible applicants will have a good masters-level degree and a track record of academic excellence in an area related to folk or traditional music.
