Universitaet zu Koeln (University of Cologne)
Institut fuer Musikalische Volkskunde (Institute of Folkloric Music)

Type of Program and Degrees Offered

We are a research institute that is connected with the Institut fuer Musikpaedagogik (Institute for Musical Pedagogy) of the University of Cologne. We do not offer a special ethnological course of studies, but the contents of our work are integrated into pedagogical studies.

Program Focus

Our focus is the research of regional varieties of folk music in the present, in terms of their musical, ethnological, and sociological basis.
