Hi,
My name is Candice Drave. I am an ethnomusicology student. I just started working on a masters degree this past month, at Union Institute and University. I have an interest in music of World War I, the acoustic era of the recording industry, and Weimar German Jazz. I am hoping to do my thesis on the topic of American music and society during World War I.

This is a topic I started to get interested in during undergrad study, and started a small collection of primary sources in hopes of writing a thesis one day. My collection includes 78s, sheet music, and music advertisements from World War I. I have to take a class called research methods where we learn to research, and I would like to declare these primary sources I have collected on a works cited page to show my instructor. How would I handle citing 78s, sheet music, and advertising in MLA formant. Do I need to? In previous work I simply stated that photos or scans were from my personal collection. How do I handle this for preparing for thesis level scholarship?

Any input is greatly appreciated,
