The Division of Musicology and Ethnomusicology is looking for interested applicants for their integrated MA/PhD program in musicology and ethnomusicology at the University of Kentucky. In particular, we are looking for a candidate to fill ONE fully-funded TA Position in World Music (normally for three years). This person would assist teaching sections of our MUS 130 Performing World Music. This course enrolls a high number of non-music majors and consists of half-time lecture and half-time performance in various Southeast Asian, African and Afro-diasporic traditions such as Balinese Gamelan Angklung, West African drumming, Trinidadian steel pan music, and Brazilian samba percussion. Performance experience in one or more of these areas is desirable. For more information about the program, follow this link: http://finearts.uky.edu/music/musicology-ethnomusicology or contact Dr. Donna Kwon at donna.kwon@uky.edu.
