Call for Papers: 2017 Charlotte Frisbie Student Paper Prize Competition

The Indigenous Music Section invites submissions for the 2017 competition for the Charlotte Frisbie Student Paper Prize. The description and criteria for this prize is as follows:

"The Charlotte Frisbie Student Paper Prize recognizes the most distinguished student paper in ethnomusicology of Indigenous music research presented at the SEM annual meeting. The prize comes with a cash award of $100. All students giving papers on Indigenous topics—broadly defined—at the SEM conference are encouraged to submit their papers, as presented (not revised), for consideration."

To have your paper considered, please send a copy of the paper that was presented at the 2017 SEM Conference in Denver and any supporting materials (audio-visual examples, clearly referenced within the paper text) via email to Liz Przybylski, Chair of the Charlotte Frisbie Student Paper Prize Committee. E-mails should be sent to liz.przybylski@ucr.edu with the subject heading “Charlotte Frisbie Student Paper Prize Submission.” With your submission, indicate your academic affiliation and level of study.

Materials must be submitted via email by 12:00pm (Eastern time) December 15th, 2017. Applicants will be notified of the results of the competition by March 1st, 2017.
