The Association for Chinese Music Research will hold its 2019 annual meeting on Thursday, November 7th, 8:00–10:00PM, in Bloomington, Indiana, in conjunction with the 2019 annual meeting of the Society for Ethnomusicology. For the first hour of the meeting, we invite proposals for presentations that engage with the pedagogy of Chinese music (broadly defined). Topics might include, but are not limited to, designing compelling syllabi, devising effective lesson plans, negotiating classroom challenges, integrating performance, and balancing cultural/historical perspectives. We will specify the amount of time allotted for presentations once we have determined the number of interested presenters. Our hope is to reserve ample time for questions and discussion.

We welcome submissions that represent a diversity of teaching contexts and departmental or disciplinary perspectives. Submissions from graduate students are warmly welcomed.

Please submit a 250-word abstract by email to Meredith Schweig (meredith.schweig@emory.edu) by August 15th, 2019

Student presenters are eligible for the Ruby Chao Yeh Award for Student Travel to Annual SEM Meeting. Please refer to the ACMR Prizes webpage for details: http://acmr.info/prizes.html
