Social Justice Paper Prize (Crossroads Section on Diversity, Difference, and Underrepresentation)

Purpose: To acknowledge the most compelling paper on music and social justice themes or issues delivered at annual SEM meetings.

Eligibility: This award is designed for any student, faculty, or independent scholar whose paper has been accepted for presentation at an annual SEM meeting.

Prize: The award is a cash prize of $100.00.

Regularity: An award will be given every year.

Administration: The selection committee consists of two officers of the Crossroads Section on Diversity, Difference, and Underrepresentation.

Application Process: PDF copies of a paper are to be sent to Brenda Romero at brenda.romero@colorado.edu and Susan Asai at s.asai@northeastern. If there are supplementary audio-visual materials, please attach one file of no more than 4 MB. The file should be in a standard format with your last name and an excerpt of the title of your paper in the file name.

Application Deadline: Please submit papers no later than November 15th.
