SEM offers advertising opportunities in its journal, newsletter, and Annual Meeting. Job announcements may be posted on the SEM website or at the Annual Meeting. Please see below for details.



Ethnomusicology, the SEM journal, is published by the University of Illinois Press and appears three times a year. For information on advertising, please see http://www.press.uillinois.edu/journals/advertising.html.

The SEM Newsletter is published four times a year in the Members' Area of the SEM website. Libraries that subscribe to the SEM journal also have online access to the newsletter. Rates for camera-ready copy are as follows:

  • Full Page $200
  • 2/3 Page $145
  • 1/2 Page $110
  • 1/3 Page $60
  • 1/6 Page $40
  • Additional charges apply to non-camera-ready materials.

  • Winter issue - December 15
  • Spring issue - March 15
  • Summer issue - June 15

Annual Meeting
Advertising options at the Annual Meeting include program book ads, exhibit hall tables, registration packet flyers, and event sponsorship. Please contact the Conference Coordinator at semconf@indiana.edu for more information.

Job Announcements
SEM publishes job announcements in the Members' Area of its website. We do not currently charge for these postings. Please send your announcement to Stephanie Sturgis, Program Specialist, at sem@indiana.edu. If you wish to publicize your listing at the SEM Annual Meeting or conduct interviews during the meeting, please contact the Conference Coordinator at semconf@indiana.edu.
